Anatomic pathology is a medical specialty that is concerned with the diagnosis of disease based on the gross, microscopic, chemical, immunologic and/or molecular examination of organs, tissues, and cells. Although many diagnoses are straightforward, diseases can present in unusual ways and with unusual appearances. Consultation and appropriate ancillary testing help ensure that the correct diagnosis is rendered, allowing a more informed assessment of disease prognosis and generating cost savings by improving clinical outcomes. Our expert pathology consultants can assist with test selection, interpret the findings, and then interact with primary physicians and other pathologists to ensure optimal treatment for each patient.
